Maritza Bond, MPH, is a proven executive leader with a two-decade track-record in the public sector, serving in urban and rural communities in Connecticut.

Maritza currently serves as the Director of Health for the City of New Haven, where she leads the department's efforts to create a culture of health and wellness, focusing on addressing social determinants of health and health equity. As Secretary of the State, Maritza will be a catalyst — protecting the right to vote, expanding access to voting and increasing civic knowledge and participation, restoring fiscal autonomy in the Secretary of the State’s office, and making it easier for small and minority businesses to launch and expand - and then thrive, all across Connecticut.
